295/345-19 on a Porsche Carrera T? Yes, It’s Possible!

295/345-19 on a Porsche Carrera T? Yes, It’s Possible!

Grant Keyser:

The off-season is the perfect time for big projects, and I’ve been hard at work on my 991.2 Carrera T. With the Vitour P1 now officially legal, I’ve made some exciting changes to push this car even further. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve done, where it’s headed, and why I’m excited about the upcoming season.

New Wheels, New Tires, and Big Fits

I’ve gone bold with tire sizing:

  • Front: 295/25/19 on a 10.5” wide wheel.
  • Rear: 345/25/19 on a 12.5” wide wheel.

To make this setup work:

  • Fronts: I installed GT3 Cup car fender flares to accommodate the wider tires.
  • Rears: Amazingly, the 345s fit perfectly under the stock rear fenders without modification.

The grip is going to be phenomenal!

Weight Reduction: From Daily Driver to Autocross Beast

I’ve stripped a significant amount of weight from the car to maximize performance:

  • Removed the headliner and most of the interior behind the B-pillars.
  • Current weight is down to 2,890 lbs (without me in the car). At 6’4” and 260 lbs, the extra space and weight savings are definitely worth it.
  • I’m targeting a final weight of around 2,775 lbs, with plans for a straight-pipe exhaust off the turbos and a few other tweaks.

Power Plans: E85 Tune Incoming

Right now, the car’s making about 450 hp, but I’m considering an E85 tune that should bump that to well over 500 hp. Combined with the weight reduction and new tire setup, this will be a game-changer for performance.

Time to Hit the Track

One area I want to improve is seat time. Over the past couple of years, I’ve only managed to average 5–6 autocross events annually, with just one SCCA event this year. With all these upgrades, I’m ready to get back into regular competition and see what this car can do.

Want the Same Tires? They’re Available Now!

If you’re looking to run a similar setup, the Vitour P1 tires are ready to go. Check them out here: VitourP1.com.

Here’s to a faster, lighter, and more competitive season ahead. See you at the next event!
