LSFest: What a Week for VitourP1.com and the Corvette E-Ray!

LSFest: What a Week for VitourP1.com and the Corvette E-Ray!

First off, a huge thanks to everyone supporting VitourP1.com! Since returning from LS Fest, I’ve shipped out 24 Vitour P1 tires from my Indianapolis warehouse and even hand-delivered two more to an Indy region contingency winner at the event. You guys rock, and I’m stoked that many of you will soon experience what the Vitour P1 is all about.

One particularly exciting shipment is a set of 305/15s headed to an Air Force mechanic in Europe, who plans to run them on his Miata and show the Germans what’s up! How cool is that?

If you're heading to 10/10ths at Putnam Park this weekend or any upcoming events with trackside support, Indy Race Tire should have some Vitour P1 tires on hand. If you need tires or want to ensure availability trackside, reach out to Jeff Bishop or me.

E-Ray Updates & LS Fest Success

Now, back to the action! After test-driving the E-Ray at the SCCA Solo National Tour, I had a bit of mixed luck. My time attack car’s bottom end finally gave out after four years of abuse—honestly, it was overdue, but the timing couldn’t have been worse. It’ll be back eventually, and a bit more 20psi+ friendly.

Adding to the drama, my Lotus transmission let go during the last Indy points weekend. I’m hoping to have it running again before the month’s end. In the meantime, I’ve embraced the "bought, not built" warranty life. With two kids now, my time and energy have shifted, and events have been more enjoyable in the Stingray. So, it’s time for a change.

While I love the Stingray, it’s not ideally classed for the programs I’m most involved in. The Corvette E-Ray, on the other hand, looks far more promising in terms of classing, and I think it has a more interesting development path.

On Monday, a dealer accepted my offer, and by Tuesday, I became the proud owner of a Corvette E-Ray!

LS Fest Victory

LS Fest was already on my schedule, but I hit a snag when none of my 19-inch wheels cleared the calipers. I ended up running the stock E-Ray 20x10 fronts with the Stingray’s 20x11 rears, using 245/20 and 295/20 A052s I ordered on the drive home from the dealership.

Despite the tire setup being a bit off compared to the 295/345 VitourP1.com tires I had run on the previous E-Ray, we crushed it at LS Fest! The event format played to the E-Ray’s strengths, and I managed to take home the Grand Champion title. It still feels surreal to win such a big event in a car I’ve only owned for a week!

I’ve got 19" wheels on the way and can’t wait to see what the E-Ray is fully capable of—especially once I get it on the Vitour P1s. Next year, I think the E-Ray will be an unstoppable force.
