The 2025 Spring Nationals in Lincoln, NE, saw a great performance from Jay Bullington and his Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo—equipped with Vitour P1s measuring 315mm up front and 345mm in the rear. It was one of the most aggressive tire setups in the field, and the P1s proved more than capable of handling the Taycan’s size and power across the grippy concrete.
Holding Pace in a Heavier Platform
Competing in EVX, Jay went head-to-head with a well-prepped Tesla Model 3 Performance on 315 Yokohamas and a dialed-in suspension package. Despite the Taycan being nearly 1,300–2,000 lbs heavier than most of the top-performing cars on site, it stayed right in the mix on raw time—outpaced only by a handful of the fastest cars across all street tire classes, including an Evo, GT3, GT4 RS, Evora, and an AST Miata.
Vitour P1s helped keep the Taycan planted and composed, allowing Jay to extract impressive pace out of a platform that, on paper, shouldn’t be this fast around cones.
EVX Battles and Day 2 Conditions
After Day 1, Jay trailed by 0.7 seconds—a gap that data suggested could be tightened with more precise driving. Day 2 brought wet conditions, prompting a switch back to the Taycan’s stock tires due to hydroplaning concerns. Even with the change, the groundwork laid on Day 1 with the Vitour P1s kept Jay in strong contention. He closed the gap significantly with a clean final run but ultimately came up just 0.251 seconds short of the class win.
ProSolo Highlights and Raw Speed
The ProSolo brought new challenges in the form of EVX4 PAX indexing. While the Taycan launched hard—posting a 1.694 in the wet and an incredible 1.609 in the dry—it wasn’t enough to overcome the harsh PAX handicap. Still, Jay’s pace on course remained competitive, and with clean lights, he would’ve secured the final trophy spot.
Performance That Impresses
Jay's weekend showed just how capable the Vitour P1s are—even under the stress of a 5,300-lb electric wagon. Whether it was digging out of tight corners or staying composed through high-speed transitions, the P1s allowed the Taycan to perform far beyond expectations. Big tires, big grip, and serious results.
More to come as Vitour drivers hit the road for upcoming national events.
