Vitour Performance at DriveAutoX NCM

Team Vitour returned to Bowling Green for another round at the National Corvette Museum last weekend—this time for cone-dodging action at DriveAutoX. No road course this time, just fast, clean runs in the paddock, bracket-style shootouts, and 18+ runs for every driver!

Day 1: Solid Starts and New P1 Testers

Dallas Reed brought the E-Ray and started strong, placing 3rd overall on his second morning run and moving up to 2nd overall on run three. That held as his best of the day. In the afternoon, he cleaned things up slightly but gave up a few spots overall—still hitting his goal of putting down a top time within three runs.

Also on Day 1, two drivers ran the Vitour P1 for the first time. As expected, it took about four runs to scrub in the compound, but once it did, the pace picked up fast. Both dropped significant time in the afternoon, especially on their second runs when grip came in.

Day 2: Fast Times, Wet Conditions, and Close Calls

Day two brought six more runs. Dallas locked in 2nd overall again on his second run, but coned away four others—including one that could have taken the top spot.

Chris Jensen delivered as always in his RX7 running a 345/30/18 square setup. A wild Lotus Elise claimed the win on Sunday, though there’s still more speed in it—the setup has shifted and could benefit from a wider front tire. Wider is better, and we’ll be helping with that.

Several other drivers on site gave strong feedback on the P1s, with notable interest in the 345 sizing.

Bracket Shootout: Vitour in the Finals

Both Dallas and Chris qualified for the Outlaw Class shootout. Dallas made it all the way to the final round, falling short by just half a car length. A strong showing for a mostly stock E-Ray.

Trophies went to Vitour drivers in key classes:

  • Truck Class – Steven Eich

  • GT Class – Chris Andreasen

Heat Management with Tire Blankets

This event also marked Dallas’s first use of tire blankets, primarily on the rears. Even with over 30 minutes between runs in the shootout, heat retention was solid and grip stayed consistent.

Throughout the day, thermal probes showed rear tire temps at ~115°F—the sweet spot where the P1s “come on.” The E-Ray’s fronts ran warmer as expected due to the heat exchangers and AWD configuration.

DriveAutoX Delivers the Format

Big thanks to Eric Heller and the DriveAutoX crew for organizing one of the most rewarding autocross formats in the country:

  • 18+ runs per driver
  • No work assignments
  • True bracket-style competition

If you haven’t made it to a DriveAutoX event, add it to your calendar. The next round in Cleveland is already drawing attention.

A Vitour x DriveAutoX partnership for 2026? Let’s just say… things are looking good.
