Putnam Park Road Course
Clear sky/Sunny/High 70s. Humid.
Transponder, AIM
A7 1:09.705, 1:09.650 https://youtu.be/l2ktKWv_zmo
P1 1:11.415, 1:11.410 https://youtu.be/slnXx6XwyTM
Hoosier A7 faster by 1.71 seconds. Scaled to 60 seconds, if my math is right it is very close to 1.5 second difference.
In line with what I expected, and with the A052.
Feel wise, under straight line throttle and braking, the P1 does not really feel much different than the A7. Under cornering load, there is less grip available and it is noticeable. There is quite a bit more feedback with the P1.
A bit of background/context-
Fast guys with a lot of laps here were generally 1.5 seconds off PB pace on the fastest morning session myself included for this event, I believe primarily due to track conditions/weather.
I have a ton of laps at Putnam, can and have cranked out fast laps in my other TT car that is a bit more full session friendly within a tenth or so back to back to back to back.
I have the overall SCCA track record here, and personally not aware of any production based car with a VIN running a faster lap than the 1:07 I ran in 2022, but I am aware of a few that certainly could should they put in an attempt. I have heard of a few Lamborghini GT3 cars with a few seconds on me and IndyCar testing I believe runs mid low 50s here.
