Earlier this season, #TeamVitourP1 kicked off the year with a cold-weather test at a local autocross event, putting the Vitour Tempesta P1 tires to work under tough conditions. The goal: get some early runs in, shake down the cars, and introduce a few members of the overseas Vitour team to American autocross competition.
Nick Zelisko and Dallas Reed shared driving duties in the 2025 E-Ray, while Emanuel Martin and Mike Young piloted the 2025 C8 Z06—both running fresh sets of Vitour P1s.
Tire setups for the day:
- C8 Z06: 285/30/20 front | 325/30/21 rear
- E-Ray: 305/30/20 front | 325/30/21 rear
For the E-Ray, the team ran a 305/30/20 up front—which is about as large as recommended on stock wheels without risking self-clearance issues.
After everyone completed their first four runs, the group decided to pack up early around 2 PM. With a two-hour drive home, and only one car allowed on course at a time, it made sense to call it a day before the second heat.
One of the main reasons for attending was to give the overseas Vitour crew their first hands-on experience at an American-style autocross event—and the Vitour P1s didn’t disappoint.
Vitour Tempesta P1 Performance in Cold Conditions
The event brought seriously tough conditions:
- High 30s°F ambient temps
- 10+ mph winds across cold concrete
- Fresh, unused P1s with no tire warmers
- First cars out on course in the coldest conditions
Even under those challenges, the Vitour Tempesta P1 tires performed exceptionally well.
Across the board, the feedback was the same: Grip really came alive by the third run (or second run for the first driver). This matches what we typically see when breaking in a brand-new set of Vitour P1s.
Driver Results on Vitour P1s:
- Emanuel Martin (first time driving the C8Z!) — 2nd overall PAX
- Nick Zelisko — 6th overall
- Dallas Reed — 9th overall
- Mike Young — 10th overall
Given the cold conditions and limited number of runs, the team was thrilled with how the P1s handled the day. The Vitour P1 once again showed that it delivers real grip and strong performance, even when track temperatures are far from ideal.
As for Dallas? He’ll be shaking off a little offseason rust before the next round of competition!
