Big congrats to Josh Halka, who took 1st place in Street class on a set of 255/30/18 Vitour Tempesta P1s! We caught up with Josh after the win, and he had nothing but good things to say. One of the standout takeaways? The ability to run multiple flying laps with full grip, lap after lap. That’s the P1 difference—consistency under pressure.
Strong Results in StreetMod, Wet Weather Confidence
Shoutout to Dewey, who locked in 2nd place in StreetMod on P1s. Another solid result to add to the board.
Rain rolled in on Sunday, but that didn’t stop drivers like Dayton De La Houssaye and Ben Belthius from putting the P1 to the test. Both stayed out for every session in the wet—and came back impressed. As Dayton put it: “Up until standing water, they’re fine.” The P1 isn’t a dedicated rain tire, but it’s more than capable in unpredictable conditions.
Tire Testing: 245 vs 285 on ND Miata
Dayton also ran back-to-back tests on his high-powered ND Miata, comparing 245/40/17 and 285/30/17—both on 9" wheels. Just like his previous tests, the result was the same: wider is faster. This mirrors our experience across platforms: if you can fit more tire, do it. You’ll see the difference.
Long-Haul Approved and Track-Tested
The P1 isn’t just fast—it’s versatile. We drove the E-Ray on Vitour P1s 9 hours each way to Road Atlanta, including through some serious rain on the return trip. No drama. Just set the cruise and go.
Trackside, we only managed three sessions, but early results are promising. On the E-Ray, the standout front setup is 345/25/19 on 11-inch wheels—nothing else we've tried even comes close. For the rear, 345/25/21 edged out the lighter 19-inch setup on lap times, even if it didn’t feel quite as sharp. We’ll get more testing in at NCM to confirm.
More to Come at GRIDLIFE Midwest
With GRIDLIFE Midwest right around the corner, we’re expecting even more drivers to make the switch. A few front runners are already eyeing the P1 after watching it take down the podium this weekend!
